About Us

In May 2024, we, Sabine and Steven, moved to Château Gioux. We originally come from Flanders, Belgium, but France has always held a special place in our hearts. Our love for the French countryside grew during the many camping trips we took with our three children. Château Gioux is a former hunting lodge that belonged to a Belgian family around 1900. Living here now and welcoming guests in a setting that radiates peace, nature, and warmth is a dream come true.

We both enjoy cooking and try to use as many fresh, organic ingredients as possible. Steven has been baking sourdough bread for many years, and whenever possible we serve our homemade bread to our guests. Our large vegetable garden provides us with delicious homegrown vegetables and herbs for our meals. Sabine previously ran a tea shop in Belgium for many years and has a strong interest in herbs and plant knowledge, as well as a love for flowers and beautiful details.

We welcome our guests in three charming rooms. Steven is responsible for the renovations; as a trained cabinetmaker, he has a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and restoration. Sabine carefully curates the décor of the guest rooms as well as the château.

Our rooms are named after our children: La Chambre Thérèse (Trees), La Chambre Antoinette (Nette), and La Chambre Polydore (Pol).

We warmly welcome you to Château Gioux!
