About Us

In May 2024, we, Sabine and Steven, moved to Château Gioux and proudly took over the chambre d’hôtes from Nigel and Debby. They lovingly restored this beautiful house and were even featured in the English TV show DIY Château Renovation. We are honored to continue their work and carry on the renovations while preserving the charm and authenticity of this unique estate.

We are originally from Flanders, Belgium, but France has always had a special place in our hearts. Our love for the French countryside grew during our many camping trips with our three children. Now, living here and welcoming guests in an environment that exudes peace, nature, and warmth is a dream come true.

We both love cooking and try to use fresh, organic ingredients as much as possible. Steven has been baking sourdough bread with passion for years, and whenever possible, we serve our homemade bread to our guests. Our large vegetable garden provides us with delicious homegrown vegetables and herbs for our meals. Sabine previously owned a tea shop for many years in Belgium and is also a trained herbalist, with a love for herbs, flowers, and everything beautiful.

Currently, we welcome guests in two charming rooms, while a third room is being completely renovated from scratch. Steven takes care of the renovations; as a cabinetmaker and interior craftsman, he has a deep passion for artisanal work and restoration. Sabine, an interior designer, enjoys carefully curating the décor of both the rooms and the château.

Our rooms are named after our children: La Chambre Thérèse (for Trees), La Chambre Antoinette (for Nette), and La Chambre Polydore (for Pol).
